I've been working on getting some old Usenet posts online, and finally have some complete.

I have the net.* hierarchy from the 1980s up and available and plan to continue with other hierarchies as I have the time.

This takes a while as the headers of articles this old need to be modified to be accepted by inn2, but with some work, and some suggestions from Julien ÉLIE it's working.

I grabbed them from archive.org a while ago before they were forced
to take it down (zip file). https://archive.org/details/utzoo-wiseman-usenet-archive

Was some specification changed back then or is this just specific to how inn2 wants the headers?

Any idea which messages they wanted to redact and why? Now I want a copy too.

I haven't read the RFCs but Usenet header have changed over time.

Part of my discussion in news.software.nntp I've removed 'Relay-Version', 'Posting-Version', 'Xref' and 'Date-Received' headers. Also, needed to address lines starting with a single '.', as inn2 sees that as end of message.

I also have some earlier messages, but the headers need ALOT of work before I can put them online.

If I can get this done over this summer, you should be able to read them from my server 'news.novalink.us:119'.

I've uploaded about 95% of what I have. The rest need major header modification, so will take some time.
