.. . .

Look, the damned (quasi-explosive) battery packs
are like half the cost of a NEW EV. That means
they're like the ENTIRE cost of a USED EV.

The batteries DO have a service life - and it's not
as long as makers would like you to believe. As such,
buy a used EV and very soon you'll have to buy it all
over again.

EVs may be "the future", but it's a future THAT IS
NOT HERE YET. The batteries are the #1 issue. They
just SUCK. Until there's good new tech ... figure
a minimum of 15 years ... just FORGET it. The greenie
fanatics are leading you to doom.

Hey, LeftTard:

: The Lightning's battery system is split into eight modules, each of
: which costs around $4,000 MSRP, excluding labor. The Mustang Mach-E
: battery part will cost up to $35,329 before the aforementioned core
: charge. According to Lakeland Ford's parts catalog, the Battery Pack
: for the E-Transit has a starting price of $35,824.23.

https://www.topspeed.com/how-much-costs-change-ford-ev-battery/

Batteries for "Plug-in Hybrids" should run cheaper, because
they're smaller and have a much more limited range.

The entry level Tesla:

: Our lowest out-of-pocket cost estimate for (uncomplicated) battery
: pack replacement on the Model 3 is around $13,000-$16,500
: ($10,000-$13,500 for the battery, $100 for related parts, and $500 for
: HV-certified labor).

https://www.findmyelectric.com/blog/tesla-model-3-battery-replacement-cost/

I've actually seen HIGHER prices quoted on a Tesla battery
replacement. But Tesla is legendary for fake "News" on
everything from range to battery life, so of course they would
lie about replacement costs of batteries...

Maybe it's model specific though, and the Model 3 is simply their
cheapest...

EVs are over-batteried.

GM was the inventor or "Innovator" here. They got the idea
to install way more battery than was needed, and to only
use a part of it. Then as the battery dies the computer
uses more and more of the battery to give the illusion of
a steady, constant range.

This technology is now used in pretty much anything that
matters.

Remember how fast a laptop battery used to show it's age?

Or a cellphone battery?

Cell batteries are CHEAP.

An EV pak is NOT cheap - it's MAJOR.

Hey (BOT?),

Perhaps you would like to support any of your claims with facts? How long do
you think we'll listen to your one line responses that are all the same?

My opinion follows,

I recently decided to buy a new car rather than keep fixing an older one.
There were ICE, Hybrid, and EV available in the model I selected. The prices
didn't vary much but the reviews from people with the new cars did (two year
old models). The classic gas only cars had the least maintenance issues at
2-8 years. Since EV Charging isn't overly popular in the USA where I travel,
I chose the gas only model.

New cars are expensive to fix and insurance has risen because of all the new
gadgets and EVs that insurance companies have to cover.
