I tried to set the http proxy to 127.0.0.1:4444, but tahoe
gives then an error message:
>Failed to load application: "unknown option name
'http-proxy'"
So I deactivated it. In the configuration instructions it is
noticed to be set, but this was perhaps for an older
version. I do not know.
I let the tahoe run 24/7, but the tutorial from The Tin Hat
says, after a few minutes it will be connected. I am patient
and hope, it will work.

perhaps that is because it is not http-proxy, but
http_proxy.

I think the point was that it is http-proxy, but it should
be http_proxy.

With use of http_proxy tahoe gives an alert: "No option
http_proxy". The actual tahoe is very different from the
former one.
I canceled tahoe now. I could not get it working and help
was unfortunately not to get.
I work now with IPFS (Interplanetary Filesystem). It is an
alpha release, but very fast. It is similar to tahoe and I
try to get it working with Tor. Thank you for your help so
far.

well, sorry to hear that it did not work out for you.

have you tried to ask the devs over at zzz.i2p or
i2pforum.i2p ? there might be more expert on the subject.

ipfs looks good to me, i read your blog entry on this and on
their website. it is a bit like usenet, innit ? except a bit
more modern.
i like in general the idea of distributed data storage. the
main point of attack with ipfs seems to be obviously the
gateways, unless it becomes common practise that all the
users run gateways that are reachable from the internet.
will be interesting to watch the development. i will be on
board when it goes to beta stage, alpha is too rough for me
:-)

I follow the project as well. As you said, it is alpha
stage. I use it only for testing, but the potential is high,
to be a good decentralized solution for data storage.
