I thought ribs too but not sure was beef. SC (western part) is more
into pork ribs than beef. Now, I know you are far East part but not
sure you'd see super charred beef ribs where you are.

They're not 'super-charred' dear, grow out of the royal penchant to

I knew it was some kind of charred meat topped with sauce but he
mentioned cubed steak (which was in the other photo) and I saw mashed
potatoes & brown gravy in both of those take-out containers. Didn't
know it was ribs, much less beef ribs. I could probably find beef ribs
on a local restaurant menu if I really looked. I know I can buy them at
the supermarket.

The chicken fried steak plate was made by little ole me. That was not a
take out container, although I'd like to take those plates out and smash
them. I make a pretty good chicken fried steak. Chicken fried steak is
typically served with a white gravy but I'm not going to do that.

I truly don't care what kind of gravy you use for chicken fried steak.
White (cream) gravy or brown, it's equally good. It's got nothing to do
with a picture of beef ribs.

I figured something like that. David's pictures don't always follow in
order of the posted text. In this case, he's talking cubed steak but
it's the second picture.

I have had cubed steak, but not often. Mostly it was done as 'chicken
fried steak' in a white pepper sauce but that's just where I lived.

Then it was not cubed steak, dim one.

This Cube Steak is a tender and juicy beef steak seared in beef broth,
onion, and garlic powder, then made with the best mushroom gravy. A
simple and delicious meal made in less than 30 minutes!

Chicken-Fried Steak vs. Country-Fried Steak

Chicken-fried steak and country-fried steak are very similar Southern
dishes that are often confused with one another. Many people use the
terms interchangeably, but they are slightly different: Chicken-fried
steak is often topped with a cream gravy, while country-fried steak is
typically served with brown gravy and onions. Also, chicken-fried steak
is usually slightly crispier than its country-fried counterpart.
